Progressive wired into Macau

Among the plethora of new contracts established in Macau this month, one of the most significant has been signed by Progressive Gaming International and Galaxy’s Starworld Casino to install CasinoLink Enterprise Edition and its Table management System. Starworld is the fourth casino to be opened by the Galaxy Group in the rapidly expanding Macau market and is expected to have approximately 300 slots and 300 tables. The company anticipates installing various modules including CasinoLink slot accounting and wide area jackpot management, casinoLink Intelligence incorporating Club, cage and PIT, and its Table management System. Executive Vice President of the Company’s International Division: Neil Crossan stated: “We are excited that Galaxy has recognized the full potential of our range of system for their Starworld property.

  This latest agreement is an exciting development that we believe reinforces our offering of systems products in one of the fastest growing markets in the gaming industry worldwide. The Macau market is expected to expand by 5,000 tables and 10,000 slots within the next five years and Galaxy is expected to continue to be a significant player in this region. ” Vice President of Casino Operations for Galaxy Starworld Mick Caban stated: “We are pleased to extend our existing relationship with Progressive Gaming as we operate CasinoLink in our first two properties and are currently installing Casinolink in our third property. The success of these installations has provided us the confidence to continue to expand the use of Progressive Gaming’s systems products at Starworld that will incorporate their full cage management and table management offerings to enable us to be at the forefront of technology to allow Galaxy Starworld to provide the best service to our customers. ”

Progressive Gaming also announced last month that the wireless edition of its Rapid Bet Live sports wagering product is expected to be submitted to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for approval within the next three months. On March 23, 2006, the Nevada Gaming Commission approved the use of wireless gaming devices in Nevada, the first state in the nation to allow mobile, wireless gaming in public areas in casinos. Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Thomas Galanty stated: “For over a year, our core technology stratagey has been focused on delivering wagering applications and game content from a central server using thin-client technology for casino operators world-wide. We have a variety of unique gaming content and applications, such as Rapid Bet Live, that are designed to be delivered via mobile and wireless devices to areas within a casino’s property that currently may not be generating gaming revenues. We believe this will provide casino operators the ability to drive incremental gaming revenues with this technology, but more importantly, with exciting new content and applications that are demographically attractive, which is expected to be a key factor for the success of mobile-gaming. ” Progressive currently has Rapid Bet Live has exceeded expectations with no functionality issues. The company has other gaming content that can be delivered through a central server-based system that it expects to submits to various gaming regulatory agencies for approval throughout 2006 and 2007 that appeal to wireless device casino users.

Unicum Group promotes key products personnel

Russia’s Unicum Group has announced the appointment Peter Moffitt as Vice President of Manufacturing and R &D. Until April, 2006, Mr. Moffitt spearheaded Unicum’s product development division focusing on strategc planning, development and integration of new products and technologies. His new responsibilities will include all facets of Unicum’s gaming products manufacturing: development, production, quality control, engineering, budgeting and strategic planning. Mr. Moffitt brings over 15 years of extensive international experience in the gaming industry.   Peter Moffitt will be replacing George Aronov, who has been promoted to the position   of Vice President of Business Development. He will be heading Unicum’s non-gaming production playing a key role in production diversifications, products and technology development and overall projects management. He will also be responsible for setting the strategic direction that will drive Unicum’s overall growth in non-gaming markets. “Both managers are perfect choices for there positions, aimed at Unicum’s further growth,” said Yuri Larichev, Unicum’s President. Peter Moffitt has been with the company for two years and has proved to be a strong administrator whose strategic thinking and skills will bring our manufacturing to the next level. Atronic international’s premium e-motion cabinet has once again proved its profit-generating power by becoming the top-performing product at Casino Rodos in Greece. Several new e-motion titles were installed at the end of last year and the performance has been excellent ever since. The new games are on 10 and 20 cents denominations and the average bet on e-motion is double the average bet on any other machine at the venue, making them the most successful products on the casino floor. In total, Atronic’s video machines occupy 15 per cent of Casino Rodos total floor producing over 50 per cent of the total revenues since January 1, 2006. Lotteries business Tattersall’s and gaming and wagering business UNiTAB have announced plans to merge and form a company with over $3bn of revenue. The proposed deal, which is unanimously supported by the boards of both companies, will have Tattersall’s offer 4:33 shares for each UNiTAB share. The chairman of the merged entity will be  nominated by uNiTAB’s current board of directors while Tatesall’s incumbent CEO Duncan Fascher will assume that role in the merged entity.

Poland’s Newpond Group Companies has been appointed by uK-based Hot Games to distribute games for the Czech Rep and Poland, following a period of successful cooperation. Health Samples, Hot Games managing Director said: “Our designers for the Polish and Czech law markets are ex-JPM employees who have worked in these territories for over 10 years and had considerable success with their games over this time. Our first game for the Czech Rep.
