Victor Leonard Bosquin, has reached a milestone in our industry.  Founder of the Unibox Group in Belgium, Mr. Bosquin celebrates five decades in a business in which he created no less then 107 companies.  Today, 83 of these businesses remain active, many outside his native Belgium.  Perhaps the best known within the pages of this magazine is Seeben, the worldwide import export company of gaming equipment.
The story begins when a young  Victor Bosquin, working as a tailor, realized that he wasn’t cut out to work for someone else.  On February 20, 1956, he started his own business.  His first coin-operated game was a table football, and now 50 years later he operates more then 6,000 games worldwide.  All these activities were realized with excellent partners, the oldest of which were his closest friends from the local boy scouts.  They became shareholders of several companies and together they expanded into today’s Unibox Group.  More than 1,000 employees currently work  for the group, and under the leadership of Mr. Bosquin, they maintain its strong position in the market.  Unibox activities currently include: pub operations, arcades, bowling centres, casinos, manufacturing, real estate etc.  Mr.  Bosquin’s son, Victor Leopold Bosquin, has since taken over the Presidency of the group, while his father presides over the board of directors.  As is traditional, every year Victor Bosquin offers a small buffet at the main officer as an annual celebration, but this year had to be different.  Mr. Bosquin’s son decided to stage a ‘party to remember’, since it’s not every year that you celebrate a 50th anniversary.  As co-owner of Belgium’s Casino Spanish, finding a venue was not a problem, so together with his family, Victor Bosquin invited 350 people to celebrate the occasion.  Partners, both at home and oversees, employees and close friends were treated to a fine dinner.  A band and magicians entertained guests at the tables.  An emotional speech by both son and father, thanking the partners who had showed such devotion over the years, moved those gathered in the main ballroom.  All his partners and employees would like to congratulate Victor Bosquin and wish him good health.
